Dear Mrs. Clinton:

I am writing to you in support of Sally Uhlmann’s request for the President to grant a Presidential Pardon to Chantal McCorkle, a British woman currently serving a 24 year sentence in a Tallahassee, Florida federal prison for a crime of which she is wrongly accused.

The injustice Chantal McCorkle has received and endured is of great concern to me. Chantal has served two years of the 24 year sentence she and her husband William received as a result of William’s fraudulent infomercial business. For many years Chantal trusted in her husband William with no knowledge of his intent to harm or defraud anyone. The deceit dealt by her husband is matched only by the unjust treatment she received from her attorneys. Chantal McCorkle is a victim whose faith has branded her a criminal and whose only hope of release will be in 2020.

Throughout your husband’s administration, you have both shown a great deal of compassion and concern for those less fortunate and in need of assistance. Chantal McCorkle is in a situation that requires immediate medical attention. She has detected a lump in her breast that remains untreated by the poor medical treatment available to prison inmates. As the nation embarks on the final days of the Clinton administration, it is my hope that your husband will favorably consider this request and grant Chantal her freedom.

Best personal regards,

Karen McCarthy
