Petra McLoughlin Speaks Out

As Chantal's cousin I feel compelled to write and voice my views. I cannot emphasize enough how much her family in England support her in this travesty of justice, and know that she is not a person who could commit such a crime.

How can such a lovely person be incarcerated for 24 years? When it is clear that there is so much confusion about the case? Even I as a lay person who knows nothing about American Law cannot understand how the verdict can stand:

1)   The impartiality and integrity of the Jury has been proved as questionable, to say the least

2)   The judge had a clear dislike for William's attorney due to his arrogant approach

3)   Where is the evidence to suggest Chantal knowingly intended to defraud anyone?

4)   Where is the "scam"? So called Victims were reimbursed!!!

5)   Funds held by the Government now seem to be going into their own coffers!

So, now the American people have to pay in their taxes for the inadequacies of the American Government to conduct a trial that is held together with data and facts. Instead there is a case put forward by the Government based on nothing more than "fluff and nonsense".

Anyone who knows Chantal can see that this is not a person capable of willingly defrauding anybody or any system. Chantal is warm, kind, loving and would not be able to live with herself if she thought she had done anything to hurt anybody. She is the sort of person who would GIVE you her last Pound NOT TAKE IT!

Time is ticking away and Chantal has already lost her Grandmother while she has been in prison, she wasn't able to attend her funeral due to her incarceration: Something that hurt her profoundly. Her hopes of becoming a mother are fading due to her late release date. How many other opportunities or people does she have to lose before someone does something to stop this ridiculous nightmare.

We love Chantal and support her 100% in her fight for freedom, and will back her all the way.
