I am the mother of Chantal McCorkle, the British girl sentenced to 24 years in jail for Telemarketing along with her husband William McCorkle.

The federal Government have lied about my daughter’s involvement in the business; her name was not on any money transfers to other banks.

As you probably know from looking on this website, there is new evidence about the trial which has come to light and is with the judge waiting for a decision.

I think the people of the United States need to know about the laws in their country being so terribly wrong.

I went to see Chantal in jail and her once shining face is now white with months of being locked in a cell, I held her and she was my child again, always so trusting of everyone, kind to old and young and never been trouble to me. Chantal is the light in all our lives and we miss her desperately.

After the visit I went back to my hotel room, Chantal’s gaunt face haunting me, my grief was so bad, my chest so tight, I thought I would die of a broken heart.

Please someone tell me how she can be given 24 years in jail for hurting no one. We are to be separated maybe until the day I die just so the Government can keep the money their business made, is this what God planned for her? I don’t think so. Money is some peoples dream but others nightmares. If you are apart from the ones you love money means nothing. Should her life be taken from her? Released at 53 into a world she no longer knows without having the chance to have children of her own. This is not what I bore my child for (a life of living hell). Child murderers will be out before her. Is this justice?
